A wind mitigation inspection determines what discounts your home qualifies for based on it's hurricane resistant structures. Hurricane resistant structures that may qualify for discounts include:

• Year home was built (has to have verifiable permit application date)
• Age of roof (has to have verifiable permit # and application date)
• roof deck attachment
• roof to wall attachments
• roof geometry
• secondary water resistant layer 
• opening protections

A wind mitigation Inspection report is good for 5 years
